Iranian writers have historically composed munsha'at in Arabic language, encompassing a variety of genres. Among these notable writers is Qa'im Maqam Abu al-Qasim al-Farahani, a prominent in both Persian and Arabic literature of the early 19th century, who authored four Arabic mansha'at distinguished by their literary style. This research attempts to analyze the stylistic features of one of Farahani’s Arabic letters, sent to Muhammad Ali Pasha, the governor of Egypt, through the lens of the structuralist approach. This methodology relies on examining multiple linguistic levels : phonological, morphological, syntactic, lexical, and rhetorical levels. The study aims to highlight the author’s stylistic prowess in composing the letter in Arabic and to demonstrate its nature as an eloquent literary text. The research concluded that Farahani’s letter constitutes a coherent and highly eloquent literary text. The analysis reveals that on the phonological level, the author skillfully employed techniques such as saj and jinas. On the morphological level, diverse broken plurals were used to support the text’s rhythm. Syntactically, the sentences exhibited variation between nominal, verbal, and constructive patterns, effectively serving the letter’s communicative purposes. The lexical analysis uncovered rich semantic fields – such a love, longing, and friendship – which conveyed underlying political dimensions. Finally, on the rhetorical level, the study documented a masterful use of imagery and intertextuality with the Holy Quran and classical Arabic poetry.
