The novel Hadith al-Junud by the Jordanian writer Ayman Al-Atoum is an artistic embodiment of the protests that took place at Yarmouk University in the 1980. The writer transformed documentary material and living testimonies into a cohesive narrative work. The research problem lies in the absence of a specialized critical study devoted to the artistic structure and narrative techniques of this novel, as most previous criticism focused on the political and thematic aspects, overlooking the narrative elements that granted the text its aesthetic value. Hence, the significance of this study emerges in filling this critical gap by analyzing the compositional elements of the text (character, dialogue, plot, time, place, narrator, and event) to uncover their constructive role in consolidating the human vision of the novel. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, and the findings revealed that Al-Atoum succeeded in harmonizing the real with the artistic; he employed a participating narrator with limited knowledge, which lent a sense of realism and suspense to the events. The study concludes that the integration of these narrative elements transformed the documented historical events into a creative text carrying value-laden connotations of freedom and justice, making Hadith al-Junud an artistic model that combines narrative documentation and novelistic aesthetics.
