The literature of resistance serves as a sincere mirror of peoples confronting colonialism and tyranny. Jabal Amel exemplifies this experience, demonstrating resilience not only through arms but also through intellectual and literary efforts. This study examines the levels of struggle in Jabal Amel’s resistance literature by analyzing its humanistic and social dimensions in the works of local writers and poets who expressed their communities’ suffering and aspiration for freedom and dignity. Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, the research draws on literary texts and historical evidence tracing the region’s intellectual awakening from the Ottoman era to Lebanon’s liberation. Findings reveal that the human dimension lies at the core of resistance literature, with texts reflecting grief from oppression, the unity of human sentiment, and Arab suffering under tyranny. This literature emanates from the writers’ conscience, marked by sincerity, authenticity, and warmth, conveying the living experience of revolution and enduring resistance. Jabal Amel’s popular poetry (zajal) achieved high artistic expression in language, imagery, and musicality, aligning with modern poetic trends while paralleling classical poetry in addressing national concerns. Resistance extended beyond classical forms into popular literature and zajal, effectively conveying the message of struggle in a language accessible to the people.
