The title is one of the important topics of semiotic science, which has occupied the minds of researchers and critics in the contemporary era, because the ancient poets did not care about choosing titles for their poems. The title is a window for the audience to enter the world of the text and is a necessary input to understand the text. The title is the main key to the deconstruction of the literary text in general and the poetic text in particular, because it opens the door to many implications and concepts. The purpose of this research is to examine the title in the poems of two of the pioneers of free poetry in Iraq, namely "Nazik Al-Malaika" in «Shazaya va Ramad» her diwan poetry and "Badr Shakir al-Sayyab" in «Azhar va Asatir» his Diwan poetry, because these collections are considered to be among their first poetic experiences in the period that were written at a certain time. In this research, by examining the methods of creating titles and explaining their function in the mentioned collections, we will describe the functions of titles in poems, the main question that is raised here is: What are the differences and similarities in the use of titles in the poems of these poets? The approach adopted in this research is a descriptive and analytical approach according to the requirements of the research. One of the most important results that we achieved is that "Nazik Al-Malaika" used more uninspiring titles compared to "Badr Shakir al-Sayyab" and secondly is, "Badr Shakir al-Sayyab" has used more actual sentences to create the titles of his poems compared to "Nazik Al-Malaika" and thirdly is, "Nazik Al-Malaika" and "Badr Shakir al-Sayyab" did not use titles with encouraging functions in their poems, which may be because the collections studied by these poets were among their first poetic experiences, in which they did not attach much importance to the choice of titles.
