Linguistic formation is the process of organizing and shaping linguistic elements in a text, such as words, sentence structures, and sound patterns, with the aim of creating aesthetic and expressive effects. The structural level in linguistic formation deals with the internal relationships between linguistic elements in a text, such as grammatical issues, its rhetorical purposes, and its poetic aesthetics. Shaker Al-Ashour is a contemporary Iraqi poet distinguished by his ability to embody linguistic beauty and poetic expression in his poems. He is considered among the most prominent contemporary Arab poets and has distinguished contributions to the literary scene.
This research is based on the descriptive-analytical approach, and aims to study the aesthetics of linguistic formation in Shaker Al-Ashour’s poetry, specifically at the syntactic level. The compositional elements in Al-Ashour’s poems are analyzed with a focus on how they are used to add aesthetics to poetic texts. By analyzing the compositional elements in Shaker Al-Ashour’s poems and understanding how they are used, the study reached several results, including that Al-Ashour’s clever use of linguistic formation enhances the power of poetic expression. It turns out that Al-Ashour uses grammatical structures skillfully and creatively to create distinctive expressive effects in his poems. Also, the study revealed the interconnected relationship between linguistic structure and poetic content, as linguistic formation contributes to highlighting the general aesthetic of the poetic text.
