One of the proposed theories in the branches of semantics is cognitive semantics, and among the conceptual constructs and processes that cognitive semantics deal with is the figurative metaphor. The figurative metaphor is a basic level of cognitive construction underlying metaphors that allows us to relate our material experiences to more complex cognitive domains. This theory was first proposed by cognitive linguists Mark Johnson and George Lakoff (1987) in their book Metaphors We Live By. From their point of view, a metaphor is not just a linguistic tool for decorating words, but it is definitely a cognitive tool. Abd al-Razzaq Abd al-Wahid is considered one of the most prominent contemporary poets of Iraq who used aesthetic functions and innovation in his poems in the best way. Figurative metaphor is an important semantic tool for understanding Abdul Razzaq's poems. Through the use of this style with literary subtleties in his patriots, he conveys the desired meanings and concepts to the audience. In this article, we will seek to look at the theoretical literature to research the descriptive-analytical approach, and then study and analyze the figurative metaphor in the nationalities, Abdel-Razzaq Abdel-Wahid. Due to the wide range of figurative metaphor and the limited space of the essay, three types of metaphor are ontological, directional and structural. Expressing the poet's feelings and making them tangible is one of Abdel Razzaq Abdel Wahid's goals and the dominant theme in his thinking. Also, the structural metaphor has more frequency than other genres in its patriots.
